Aerotek Process Engineer in Albion, Indiana
The chosen Process Engineer will be responsible for design, development, and optimization in development of injection molding processes. This individual will plan molding machine capacity analysis, polymer testing and analysis, and technical development of the molding team.
Lead new tooling qualifications, establish molding process parameters using varying statistical techniques (DOE, SPC, etc).
Lead process improvement initiatives for the molding team such as cycle time reduction, material conversion, statistical capability improvements, etc.
Lead implementation of standardized molding process limits by use of data analysis to improve control and elimination of defective product within this company's product streams.
Lead implementation of a standardized process for polymer characterization at manufacturing floor environment.
Lead Six Sigma teams for root cause determination of part defect elimination or cost saving initiatives.
Identifies requirements, establishes specifications, and recommends purchase of primary and secondary plastics processing machinery and equipment.
Reviews and critiques submitted mold vendor design proposals and assures functional mold performance including Moldflow analysis and part design validation.
Performs injection molding capacity, downtime, and utilization studies and determines overall equipment effectiveness.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Plastics, or equivalent is preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process/Manufacturing Engineer designing and developing Plastic Injection Molding processes
Experience utilizing CAD software for tooling/process design (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred)
Proficiency with MS Office Suite and strong computer skills
Experience with RJG Injection Molding software
Certified Lean Six Sigma Black or Green Belt
Experience with large tonnage molding machines (400-1200 tons)
Experience with small intricate over-molded plastic parts with electrical components, molded from high temperature resins
