The Staff Accountant follows established accounting practices and ensures the proper and accurate distribution of financial reporting and controls within the company.
Manage day-to-day accounting operations including maintaining the General Ledger .
Review accounts to ensure that they are accurate, reconciled and complete.
Take responsibility for an effective and efficient general ledger close.
Partner with cross functional groups to review and optimize processes. Do everything from a position of “can we make this even better?”
Research accounting matters for compliance with US GAAP.
Assist with audit requests and answer initial questions.
Maintain and assist in the enforcement of SOX controls and processes.
Ensure all regulatory compliance documents, returns and surveys are complete, accurate and timely.
Review/prepare monthly account reconciliations for all general ledger accounts and validate accuracy and substance of schedules supporting the reconciliations.
Assist external processing service for activities related to A/P and A/R cash applications
Assist with fixed asset ledger and project accounting.
SOX compliance, maintenance and validation
Ad-hoc reports as needed
