The Role :

As a critical member of the HR team, the HRBP leader role is a thought leader driving change in creating a positive team member experience, building leadership capability, while aligning HR objectives with business goals. This innovative leader will partner with business leaders to develop business objectives and align people practices delivering on organizational results. The ideal candidate in this role will strengthen the leadership team driving an inclusive and diverse culture by providing coaching and consultation to leaders to further develop their leadership capability. This leader will need to effectively interact with business leaders at all levels, possess excellent communication skills, and strong business acumen.

Responsibilities :

Thought Leader:

  • Act as thought partner navigating organizational design & structure, cultural resilience, performance management, and coaching

  • Build a strong consultative relationship with senior executives, business unit leaders and their organizations becoming a trusted advisor and sounding board focused on seizing opportunities and driving priorities

  • Drive the implementation of the HR strategy by partnering with leaders across the organization.

  • Leverage innovative enterprise programs that support the development of high performing teams and best in class leaders

  • Coach and provide advice to leaders and team members regarding strategic and complex organizational and team member issues while providing proactive and pragmatic solutions

  • Use and request data strategically -- understand when and what type of data will assist in making smart, informed decisions. Interpret complex analyses and tie back to business priorities

Advocate of culture and organizational values:

  • Invest in the team member experience

  • Serve as a balanced advocate for leaders and team members

  • Coach and guide leaders at all levels to enable effective, productive teams while driving a positive team member engagement

  • Ensure inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility are integrated into talent practices at all levels

  • Lead and develop a team of high performing HR Business Partners

Innovative Change Management Champion :

  • Act as a catalyst for change; think broadly, be comfortable challenging convention, exerting influence and reinvent how work is done when necessary to drive improvements

  • Develop innovative HR solutions to deliver positive change every day.

  • Exercise effective judgment on when to be flexible or firm in response to changing needs

Qualifications :

  • 10+ years progressive human resources business partner/generalist experience or equivalent combination in a fast paced environment.

  • 5+ years experience leading and developing high performing HRBP teams

  • Experience managing or consulting in a remote environment preferred

  • Previous experience managing a team, project team or managing beyond authority

  • Ability to anticipate challenges, diagnose problems, prescribe actions, and lead programs that have a direct impact to the business strategy

  • Skill to read a situation, navigate sensitivities and find creative solutions to people issues and organizational challenges

  • Proven success in understanding and anticipating business priorities and contributing to the development of the business strategy

  • Expertise in effective and appropriate influencing skills with business leaders and partners

  • Self-starter: Able to challenge the status-quo sensitively and constructively. Intellectually agile, self-confident, and highly articulate

  • Possesses a mix of intellectual curiosity, creative thinking and pragmatism

  • Human resource professional certification preferred

Experience:

  • Understand business context, issues, and challenges to provide coaching to managers and team members leveraging business knowledge to provide effective solutions that evolve with business needs

  • Ability to combine analytical reasoning, creativity, and judgment. Interpreting complex data and translating it into meaningful, useful information that informs decision making

  • Ability to work with a number of projects running simultaneously, demonstrating urgency, flexibility and agility as business priorities shift.

  • Drive change in thought and action focused on continuous improvement

  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and a resourceful, creative problem-solving approach to business needs

  • Ability to see the big picture but also drill down into the details

  • Applies enterprise thinking and leads change for effectiveness of organization performance through the use of metrics and analytics in a way that drives business performance

  • Proven ability to diagnose issues, drawing on both professional experience and strategic thinking skills, and drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative

  • Strong business acumen and ability to work well across different functions in order to integrate HR and business strategies

  • Excellent knowledge of employment laws such as ERISA, COBRA, ADA, and other federal and state laws covering discrimination and equal opportunity employment

  • Strong analytical skills, including the understanding of metrics to support plans and monitor performance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; high quality document preparation and presentation skills; strong interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional listening skills and ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees of all levels in the organization
