Demonstrates knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures.
Routinely uses policy and procedure manuals an other reference material as necessary to ensure the proper course of actions.
Demonstrates an understanding of emergency procedures, fire drills, evacuation procedures and internal and external plans and procedures.
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of safety policies and procedures. Utilizes proper body mechanics, observes and follows good safety practices at all times.
Collects and disposes of waste from all areas of the hospital and follows proper Universal Precautions.
Prepares housekeeping carts with the proper supplies and materials and transports it to the work area.
Cleans assigned areas by washing furniture, tile and fixtures with the appropriate germicidal solutions in accordance with housekeeping procedures.
Properly washes walls, doors, door frames, ceilings, vents and windows.
Properly strips floors, applies floor finish, and properly buffs and polishes floors.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or equivalent.
Two (2) years housekeeping experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Must have current driver's license, and be capable of being insured.
