Premier Products Sewing Machine Operator in Elkhart, Indiana

OVERVIEWOperating sewing industrial machines, support or decorate textile and fabric materials for used in the RV, office and marine industry. You will mainly work with sewing machines that run faster and are heavier than the traditional machines used in homes. This job profile involves working with various types of sewing machines.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.* Responsible for selecting all the equipment needed for the sewing process, which includes setting up the machine and its peripherals, and using the tools correctly. These tools mostly include scissors, knives, fasteners, stiffeners, templates and measuring devices.* Operators are also responsible for monitoring machine operation, which can include fixing attachments like needles, threads, pattern plates or cutting blades.* Responsible for inspecting the product after it has been rendered.* Keeping record of the orders processed* Setting apart quality passed garments* Setting apart defective or lower-quality garments for correction or disposal* Ensuring that textile parts are in correct sequences and, confirming that the color lots and textile patterns matchCompetencies* Be able to work on sewing machines in a manufacturing environment* Have good organizational skills for sorting and cutting textile parts for joining* Have high hand dexterity to operate sewing machines* Have some interpersonal skills* Have initiative in getting the job doneSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilitiesPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to manually lift and stack products that ranges from 5 pounds 20 pounds. Must be capable of sitting, standing, bending, lifting, or walking for extended periods of time. Must be able to work additional hours and up to six days a week, as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position on first shift!
