Lippert Components is in search of a Systems Security Engineer to implement and maintain our security systems. This role will be responsible for analyzing the features and capabilities of networking and cyber security solutions, to include Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Email Security, Next Generation Firewalls, and a Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), to implement controls necessary to provide DLP solutions. In this role, the Engineer will analyze and recommend modifications to security tool configurations and provide guidance on correlation of data for increased depth and breadth into enterprise security posture.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze system configurations

  • Collaborate with systems owners to develop effective configurations and strategies

  • Develop business processes to provide collaboration amongst disparate solutions and solution owners

  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results to provide post-release/ post-implementation testing

  • Evaluate products according to specifications

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality

  • Must be able to work in a dynamic and rapidly expanding environment, serve as part of a talented team of engineers that collectively demonstrate excellent technical competence, reliability in delivering mission-critical infrastructure.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working indoors, office environment.

  • May sit for several hours at a time.

  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.

  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.


  • Two or more years of experience in an information security role, with 4 or more years of systems experience

  • Experience with EDR, Azure / Office 365, Splunk, Tenable, Okta, and Thycotic Secret Server

  • Strong understanding of fundamental networking components, including DNS, DHCP, routing, IP addressing and subnetting, NAT, firewalls, etc.

  • Outstanding communication and organization skills

  • Qualified candidates will have a strong background in IT, computer systems engineering and analysis.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Prefer one or more of the following industry certifications:

  • Prefer familiarity with security frameworks (e.g. NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, etc.) and risk management methodologies

  • Excellent report writing and communication

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • The ability to work independently or with a team

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time remote role, Monday through Friday.


Potential travel will be minimal and would be primarily local during the business day. However, the ideal candidate will have availability to travel; international travel a possibility.
