Position Purpose : The Program Analyst, an entry level role works with a group of associates within the First Data Education OpSys team who support an Extract Transform and Load (ETL) system comprising student loan data and payment processing, while also providing baseline daily support for existing customized solutions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated and brings enthusiasm to his/her work.

Essential Job Responsibilities :

Under general supervision, this entry-level associate will follow standard practices and procedures to analyze, design, program, debug, modify and implement software systems.

Build, modify, review and analyze software systems through code development, testing, debugging and documentation.

Perform unit & integration level testing.

Provides application support for existing software within the areas covered by the role. Closely work with your peers and client facing operations teams to research and resolve client reported issues.

Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions to the problems.

Update technical documentation based on project analysis or production support findings.

Work with peers to conduct code reviews across the team and help foster a productive work environment.

Work with the Release Management team to assist with application release activities.

Identify process improvement opportunities based on your observations and work with your manager to explore possibility to implement changes.

All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Education):

Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.

Job Related Experience:

Experience using Relational Databases / SQL

Experience with ETL system development

Experience with source code version control and software configuration management

Some experience working on projects

Additional Skills/Knowledge:

A background in the financial industry (and specifically within the student loan industry) a plus.

Experience with Agile software development concepts a plus.

Ability to learn sophisticated technical concepts quickly.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to learn various software packages and computer languages.

Strong multitasking abilities and task organization skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Familiarity of Microsoft Office Suite.
