Robert Half International Insurance Follow-Up Specialist in GREENWOOD, Indiana

The Robert Half Healthcare Practice has partnered with a healthcare company located in Greenwood, IN to secure a full-time Medical Follow-Up Specialist!

This person would be responsible for the follow up and collection of insurance accounts receivable of the physicians supported by the Central Billing Operations.

Daily Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for procuring final resolution of all insurance owed balances. This would include but not be limited to refiling of insurance claims, phone communication and appeal processes with third party payors

  1. Responsible for communication of incorrect filing issues that result in coverage being denied to the Physician, office staff and Administration to alleviate future denials

  2. Responsible for all inquiries regarding insurance aged accounts receivable balances by payors whether orally or in writing

  3. Responsible for the collection activity in accordance with the Corporate Financial Policy

  4. Responsible for meeting the production and quality standards as set for this position

  5. Responsible for providing appropriate documentation to support write-offs and adjustments to all accounts

  6. Responsible for knowledge of all third party compliance, regulatory rules, and filing requirements

  7. Maintain up to date knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-9 coding

  • High school diploma or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before individuals or groups of people

  • Ability to calculate basic figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of intermediate computer software with a high focus in NextGen
