Business Info Consultant (Agile Product Analyst)

Responsible for serving as a member of a product team as a business SME (aka Product Analyst) to help design a new enterprise product for Anthem’s Program Integrity department. Use Product Management skills in working directly with multiple software development teams to explain the business needs. The new software will be enterprise wide for multiple business areas and organizations.

Candidates should possess strong business sense and be able to translate complex data, various business processes and various business needs into manageable and useful solutions. Candidates should also have demonstrated thought leadership in business analysis. Candidates should be analytical and strategic thinkers that can propose innovative solutions to current health care problems. Candidates should be able to connect the dots to understand business impact. Candidates should also be excellent communicators in order to collaborate with various stakeholders at many levels throughout the organization.

Position may be located at any Anthem office or may be a telecommute role.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Discover and understand various business area’s processes using techniques such as User Journey’s, User Scenarios, impact maps, Story Maps

  • Interdepartmental collaboration through working sessions to identify similarities and differences and address these things within the new product being developed

  • Work with the various user community to understand the user’s perspective for the Product in discovery using tools such as interviews, research, persona analysis, empathy maps, focus groups, usability surveys

  • Work with the business to understand the problems that need solving with the product

  • Collaborate with multiple software development teams to communicate the needs of the business and working to define possible solutions using tools such as storyboarding, Wireframing, etc

  • Explore data to find actionable insights to make the project recommendations

  • Write User Stories, Features etc using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) model

  • Work with the developers to perform Story Acceptance testing within Sprints

  • Work with the users to perform different levels of testing such as Feature Acceptance Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Exploratory Testing, Usability Testing and End to End Testing

  • Perform various testing duties as the first line of system feedback

  • Use tools such as JIRA, Excel, Visio, SQL Server, Tableau to help collaborate in solving problems


  • Requires a BS/BA degree in related field (examples include MIS, CS, Business, Marketing, Math, Health Care)

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background

  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required

  • Ability to manipulate large sets of data.

  • The ability to map business requirements to technical requirements in support a new concept management tracking tool

  • An understanding of Program Integrity functions, specifically the claims overpayment recovery function (clinical and non-clinical)

  • The ability to define, collect, and map data

  • Healthcare experience is a plus

  • SAFe certifications is a plus
