Job SummaryThe US Demand Planning Manager for Manufacturing and Operations will manage all aspects of the demand planning process in the S&OP for our combined Avantor/VWR manufacturing sites. This includes all demand planning, forecasting processes, demand planning tools and metrics. He/she will be accountable for leading the optimization of forecasting and demand planning and the execution of the demand planning processes to meet and exceed customer requirements and business expectations across a 12-month horizon. He/she is accountable for developing 12-month demand plan for manufacturing by facilitating the process with the commercial and distribution SC team. As a functional expert in demand planning, the US Demand Planning Manager will lead the tactical and strategic use of our SAP APO system. He/she is also responsible for optimizing master data and forecasting techniques using our demand planning tools. Work cross functionally and with a high degree of independence to solve complex business issues. Drive and influence timely decision making to support Senior Leadership. Hold self and team accountable for timely execution of operational goals and objectives.

  • Drives the deployment of the demand planning process within the overall S&OP process across the Avantor manufacturing and Operations organization.

  • Manages and provides leadership for interfacing with the Avantor Distribution SC team to develop the demand plan for a minimum of 12 months.

  • Provides leadership to incorporate corporate initiatives into the demand planning and forecasting processes.

  • Manages the demand planning analysts in the development of the monthly forecast.

  • Develops training and/or mentoring programs to build the capabilities of the demand planning staff.

  • Establishes and reports clear metrics, aligned with global policies, to manage the demand planning processes and the results in all areas. Provides data that drives actions including root cause analysis, problem solving, actions, owners and timescales.

  • Establishes cross-functional teams as necessary to address demand planning process issues that will impact service to customers or business objectives.

  • Establishes and deploys best practices to ensure customer and business expectations are met for all processes.

  • Drive process standardization and continuous improvement. Redesign processes to reduce chances of errors

  • Perform other duties as assigned
