Ascension Health Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor - Westfield Schools Outpatient - Full Time - Days in Indianapolis, Indiana

We Are Hiring


Eligible new hires may recieve up to a $4,000 sign-on bonus. The first $1000 is paid upon hire, the second after successful completion of your first 90 days in the role, and then $1000 will be paid out after remaining employed for one year and again after being employed for two years. All sign on bonuses paid are subject to state, federal and FICA taxes.

You must successfully complete orientation within the designated time and be employed at the time of the payouts and have not given notice of termination to be eligible for the award. You must also be in good standing with no current disciplinary actions at the time of the payouts. Both full time and part time associates are eligible for this program, as long as you meet the eligibility requirements.

Schedule: Hours for this position will vary but will be Monday-Friday and generally will fall within the hours of 7am and 5pm. This is a year round position. Location will be covering several of the Westfield Elementary Schools but is subject to change related to overall need across all Westfield Schools.

What You Will Do

Provide behavioral health counseling services to elementary or high school students.


  • Conduct patient assessments and establish therapy treatment goals.

  • Administer individual and group therapy. Maintain thorough and confidential records of observations.

  • Evaluate progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions.

  • Provide patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community.

  • Work directly with the patient, family, physician and community providers to ensure active and collaborate care from the initiation of treatment to the time of discharge.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • One or more of the following required:

  • Counselor specializing in Mental Health credentialed from the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human

  • Services Licensing Board obtained within 48 Months (4 years) of hire date or job transfer date.

  • Social Worker credentialed from the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board obtained within 48 Months (4 years) of hire date or job transfer date.

  • Therapist specializing in Marriage & Family credentialed from the Indiana Behavioral Health andHuman Services Licensing Board obtained within 48 Months (4 years) of hire date or job transfer date.

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.

  • Clinical Counselor preferred.


  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.


  • Previous experience working with elementary to high school clients is strongly preferred.
