Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Oracle Tactical Edge Cloud (OTEC) is a new product that extends Oracle Cloud beyond the datacenters and brings its core features to customer locations, even those without consistent connectivity available. We are building a complex yet exciting offering that will span across cloud services and a fleet of ruggedized, high powered appliances that will handle a wide range of specialized workloads in collecting, processing and analyzing massive amounts of data where low latency computing is critical - think of the growing needs in IoT, AI, ML fields where data would not need to be uploaded to the cloud in order to be initially processed. One of our primary goals is to create a seamless user experience that seamlessly extends the Cloud Console to the customer's fleet of appliances and adapts to various connectivity scenarios.
As a senior software engineer on the OTEC UX team, you will be involved in all stages of product development, working with individuals from product management, partnering with other service teams, design, documentation, engineering, and QA to help define, design, develop, and release the right products and features, for the right people, at the right time.
From a technology perspective, this is a greenfield development environment with a huge amount of autonomy, leaving us free to build and innovate without being encumbered by legacy products and services. We're on a React & Redux stack, and communicate with other services via well-defined, RESTful interfaces.

You are comfortable working at all levels of the stack.
You know React & Redux; or, you don't know React, but are willing to learn.
4 years of experience shipping software
BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
Strong grasp of Computer Science concepts (data structures, algorithms, and programming paradigms)
MS in Computer Science
Experience in a start-up environment
Experience building rich, browser-based applications
Experience designing, developing, and maintaining web applications operating at great scale
Good understanding of Unix-like operating systems
