This role will work in Global Risk Services Technology using agile methods partnering to create a portfolio roadmap and deliver key technology in direct alignment with business strategies. This position will support Distribution NI and Specialty sales pipeline and customer relationship management (CRM) initiatives on the Salesforce platform. The ideal candidate would have segment and platform expertise that align to the teams’ delivery of features and work stream efficiencies. There is also modernization and platform maintenance accountability.
The Technologist provides engineering leadership and oversight on design, engineering and development of information technology solutions. Responsible for the most complex, multi-site, multi domain activities and integration. Effectively communicates challenging technical issues with sensitivity to diverse audiences. Performs analysis, system design, documentation, testing, implementation and on-going support for extremely complex network systems. Provides highly technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new network technologies that assist the functional business units in meeting their strategic objectives. Receives general direction from the Manager. Decisions require creative thinking to envision the future system landscape and develop system migration plans; may oversee the decisions made by others. Has no direct management responsibilities, but is highly accountable for the effectiveness, quality and timeliness of project design decisions and how easily those designs can be implemented.
About the job:
Manages the troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure compatibility issues based on systems architecture, project requirements and customer expectations
Partners with IT leadership on engineering related issues and strategies
May manage engineers on a project basis
Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level on all phases of the project development cycle
Works closely with client management to identify and specify the complex business requirements and processes (e.g., diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools, etc.); researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the network system(s) design
Performs related duties as assigned or requested
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least six years or more years’ experience in operations and administration, telecommunications network installation, operation and maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Requires excellent analytical ability, strong judgment and problem analysis techniques, an in-depth knowledge of the business unit's functions and applications
Must have the ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staff
Technologies span mainframe, midrange, desktop, server, network data, voice, messaging, web and database. Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation and consensus building skills required
In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies required
Preferred Qualifications Include:
Solid understanding of Salesforce Platform and its architecture
Knowledge of integration architecture as well as third-party integration tools, Amazon web services and ETL (Such as Informatica, Mulesoft, etc.) with Salesforce.com
Expertise in test automation and unit test approaches
Knowledge of and the ability to identify, create and document activities, tasks, processes and data requirements for a particular system under design.
