Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana Coordinator NAPBC-Cancer Registry in Munster, Indiana
Coordinates and organizes NAPBC (National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers) Committee meetings and NAPBC breast cancer conferences. Assists with continuing medical education programs for physician and ancillary staff in accordance with NAPBC program standards. Creates reports to meet the yearly NAPBC standards and any reports needed by Administration regarding breast cancer. Assures the NAPBC committee is meeting the NAPBC program standards. Coordinates all day to day registry activities related to breast cancer; develop and maintain quality control for the NAPBC program. Abstracts breast cancer cases into the cancer registry database and assist with case finding and follow-up.
To qualify you must have:
Minimum of Associates degree in healthcare background.
RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.
Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) preferred or must obtain within 2 years of employment.
At least 2 years working in a healthcare setting and working knowledge of electronic medical record, i.e. Epic.
Knowledge of patient care methodology, including data collections, interpretation and display techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient use of MS Office programs, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
