A career with Valmont is a career with a future! Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Evening Shift, Machine Operator/Maintenance Mechanic position at the Plymouth, Indiana Facility. In this role, you will…

  • Process material in accordance with shop drawings through the use of designated machines

  • Operate automatic web bender machine

  • Maintain material traceability

  • Troubleshoot causes of operating errors and determine possible resolutions

  • Seek opportunities for improvements within the maintenance department

  • Perform maintenance tasks according to production needs to minimize downtime

  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance procedures

  • Install and align new equipment, as needed

  • Communicate information and provide feedback, in person, with co-workers, Shift Lead, Shift Supervisor &/or Production Manager

  • Perform general housekeeping

What it takes

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Must have an acceptable attendance and prior employment record

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in industrial maintenance

  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment

  • Strong working knowledge of single and three phase electrical circuitry with an ability to read electrical schematics

  • Ability to read and understand blue prints

  • Must be able to read a tape measure to within 1/32”

  • Experience performing all position arc and wire feed welding on steel and aluminum

  • Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, water and natural gas plumbing

  • Experience with mills/lathes

  • Basic carpentry skills

  • Must be a person of passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
