Reid Health Audiology Assistant in Richmond, Indiana

Under the direction of the licensed Doctors of Audiology, Practice Supervisor & Business Line Manager performs duties associated with the role of an Audiology Assistant. An audiologist’s assistant is a person who, after appropriate training & demonstrated competency, performs tasks that are prescribed, directed and supervised by an audiologist. The role is to be supportive of the audiologist in performing routine tasks and duties so that the audiologist is available for the more complex evaluative, diagnostic, management and treatment required by the level of education and training of a licensed audiologist.

  • Submit, file, and track prior authorizations for all testing and hearing aids – requires mining appointment schedules 6 weeks in advance

  • Performs daily biologic listening checks of equipment

  • Order hearing aids and devices as directed by audiologists

  • Check in new hearing aids when received

  • Send out devices for repair per audiologist directions

  • Check in repaired devices as they arrive daily

  • Perform listening check

  • Program device to last session in NOAH software

  • Coordinate scheduling of pick up repair appointment with audiologist

  • Manage audiometric data and patient information in NOAH database

  • Minor in- office warranty repairs of hearing devices

  • Prepare/Set-up for patient hearing device fittings

  • Complete/finalize all hearing device fittings as outlined in training protocols

  • Complete check-out procedure with patient, includes collecting payment that is required.

  • Scan and file all paperwork for the department daily

  • Tracking of all incoming Audiology invoices

  • Stock rooms with supplies & paperwork weekly

  • Clean supplies weekly (follow standard protocol for sterilization procedures)

Education Required: High School Graduate or GED equivalent

Experience Preferred: Previous work experience in a physician office or medical related position

Licensure: None

Certifications: Nova Southeastern University online training program self-paced. Consist of two modules (diagnostics and amplification) will be trained with an Audiologist. Must be completed in 6 months and will get a certificate of completion.

Day shift. 40 hours weekly. 8:00a-5:00p.
