Park Place Healthcare and Wellness Center in St John, Indiana is seeking a part time Registered Nurse Supervisor for our evening (3pm-11:30pm) shift to join its clinical team in delivering quality care to its residents in efforts to improve overall quality of life. This is an excellent career opportunity for individuals who are truly passionate about providing care for the elderly.The PM Nursing Supervisor should be someone committed to leading excellent clinical services in a skilled facility. Must be able to assume responsibility for the duties of the Director of Nursing in their absence. Will work with the Director of Nursing and other nursing management staff by leading and directing the nursing staff in their efforts to exceed the quality expectations of our clients and their families.Summary of essential job functions Assist in organizing, evaluating, and directing the clinical staff in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility. Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department with the corporate team. Assist to develop and implement an organizational nursing structure. Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the DON as necessary/required, concerning nursing operations. Participate in PLS surveys made by authorized government agencies. Assist the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies. Schedule daily rounds to observe clients and nursing staff, ensuring that quality care is provided to clients. Participate in and attend various committees of facility (i.e., Infectious Control, Policy Advisory, Pharmaceutical, Budget, Quality Assessment and Assurance, etc.) as required, and as appointed by the administrator. Assist the Pharmacy in developing, maintaining, implementing, and periodically updating written policies and procedures for the administration, storage, and control of medications and supplies. Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled. Evaluate and implement recommendations from established committees as they may pertain to nursing services. Assist in developing performance evaluation schedules, criteria, and annual reviews for the nursing service department (e.g., RNs, LPN's CNA's). Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures governing accidents and incidents. Ensure that residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently. Attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession, as well as to maintain your license on a current status. Other duties as assigned.
