1. Assumes an active role in maintaining internal communication lines between the staff and Supervisor on fitness

issues, problems, and programs, and assists with determining priorities within the department.

a. Assists in the development and implementation of designated fitness programs in accordance with established

First responsibility is assisting members with fitness programs.

Member retention.

Quality and safety of the members in the Fitness Center.

c. Other responsibilities include:

Insures that helping Fitness Center members if the first priority.

Individual professionalism and conduct.

Compliance with effective time management.

d. Assists in the development and instruction of group and individualized exercise classes, fitness-related

programs, and conducts fitness testing.

e. Performs fitness assessments, orientation, planning, and evaluation of exercise prescriptions for members.

f. Insures new and current members are provided with the initial and on-going fitness services and counseling.

  1. Insures that the Fitness Center is maintained, and the equipment is cleaned well and secure.

a. Frequently monitors and insures members' safety with fitness equipment use, protocols, and training


  1. Shows an understanding of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to

assess data reflective of the client's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's

requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.

  1. Bachelor's degree in exercise science, health, physical education, or recreation

  2. CPR certification required. (basic life support)

  3. Ability to successful deal with a wide variety of people.

  4. Ability to organize and instruct exercise programs.

  5. ACSM or ACE certification needed within six months of hire date.

  6. Minimum one year of fitness facility working experience.

  7. Must be able to adopt to a variety of situations quickly and effectively as needed.

  8. Flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
