Mercury Systems System Security Engineer in West Lafayette, Indiana
In this role, you have the opportunity to
Be a lead system security engineer working with and leading cross functional engineering teams to design secure hardware and software solutions to meet customer requirements. Work directly with Mercury's customers in a lead technical role to shape requirements to meet customer needs. Oversees the architecture and solution development to include technical planning, verification and validation of systems components. Performs total systems analyses to evaluate alternatives, assess costs and risks, and supportability. Ensures that systems are built, coded, tested and implemented according to systems specifications.
You are responsible for
Builds technical relationships with customers and provides insight into improvement and unique value add.
Establishes relationships with critical leaders in the industry.
Generates major account technical proposals for both custom and standard products.
Identifies and understands the customer's technical requirements and recommends Mercury product solutions.
Manages the analysis of technical features of competitive architectures or solutions.
Performs system performance analysis and identifies potential implementation risks.
Provides technical evaluations on how to most effectively map target market applications to Mercury's current and future products.
Consults with customers on technical issues and technical presentations
Serve as the main technical contact for customer projects
Understand the main concepts and applications associated with specific, specialized company product design
Responsible for providing an accurate assessment of the scope of work for projects and accurate assessments of progress
Understands and addresses cost, schedule and performance impact and provides trade-offs for programs decisions
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
BS or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 10 years working experience as a Systems Engineer identifying critical needs decomposed to system and subsystem features
Experience executing Systems Engineering principles and mapping requirements to design implementations
Direct experience validating, verifying, and deploying security hardened systems and sub-components
Experience decomposing customer specifications and requirements to system engineering and architecture processes; Experience analyzing system performance and identification of risks
Hands on experience developing inputs (Feature, stories) for Agile development execution
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools is a plus
Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance is required.
Travel to customer and Mercury sites of 25%-50% will be required.
